What personal data we collect and why we collect it…
Forms
When visitors submit forms on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
Uploaded images and other Media
All uploaded images you have chosen to upload to our site become the property of the New York Proud Boys. DO NOT upload images that do not belong to you or that you do not have the express right or consent to redistribute. If WE get sued, SO WILL YOU! Gratuitous images are welcomed and even encouraged (I guess that makes them not gratuitous… anyway), We care about your safety and well being. We will blur street names, car tags, faces, etc in an effort to protect your identity, if we elect to publicly display your image. If you would like to request the removal of an image or other media from our website because you claim ownership rights or privacy violations, please email webmaster@nyproudboys.com
Cookies
We currently use cookies for page loading expediency, form submitting and page functionality. No personal information is collected about you at this time unless you choose to do so. Logging in to this website (with a unique account) is strictly controlled to members only. By being a member, in good standing and using the features of this site, you agree to allow the necessary software and cookies to be stored on your local machine. Even if you don’t understand what any of this means, as a current and active Proud Boy using the site, you still agree to it. If this changes in the future, we will update this policy.
Embedded content from other websites
Elements on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Analytics
All analytic software implemented on this site collects only minimal information regarding your IP, your country, web browser, operating system and device type, etc. No information that could be used to personally identify you is collected unless you choose to submit it in a form.
Who we share your data with
We share your submitted data within our trusted, long time chapter leadership officers for the sole purpose of recruitment and vetting. The information you submit in forms on our site is kept on secure servers and emailed only to chapter officers, using SSL SHa 256 encrypted email.
How long we retain your data
Submitted form data and its metadata are retained until we delete it. Periodic data purges are completed for security and site health. This is so we can refer to your submitted information for vetting. No data regarding full members with voting privileges exists on our servers.
What rights you have over your data
If you have submitted a form on this site, you can request to receive an exported file of any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. We do maintain a list of non-approved applicants that is our own.
What data breach procedures we have in place
We rely heavily on the security of our hosts’ servers. We form relationships with only trusted hosts that implement the latest in internet security protocol, while respecting liberty, freedom and the American Constitutional. If we have reason to believe a data breach is or has occurred, our current policy consists of “destroy, destroy, destroy..” We will wipe servers of all identifiable data, leaving nothing but a flashing cursor in the upper left corner of the screen.
